ILO: Employment deterioration in Latin America and the Caribbean

Xinhua news agency, Lima, December 14 Xinhua (reporter Jia Anping) 14 International Labour Organization released a report that in 2016 the employment situation of countries in Latin America and the Caribbean deteriorated sharply, the whole area is expected to 8.1% unemployment rate was the highest in nearly 10 years.
Data show that in 2016 Latin America and the Caribbean is expected to total unemployment reached 25 million, an increase of about 5 million over the previous year. The unemployment rate in 2015 was 6.6%.
The country's unemployment rate rose in 2016 in the region is a common phenomenon, in 19 countries unemployment rate statistics, the unemployment rate in the 13 countries showed an upward trend. The report notes that this year, Latin America and the Caribbean unemployment rate rose sharply mainly due to the deterioration of the regional economic situation, a substantial reduction in employment demand.
The report notes that in recent years the world economic recovery is slow, Latin America and the Caribbean deeply affected. 2014 to 2015, the basic employment in the region is zero growth.
